10 Things to Know Before You Visit

We look forward to welcoming you to the National Showcaves Centre for Wales! To ensure you experience a safe and enjoyable visit with us, we ask you to read the following: –

1. You MUST pre-book your tickets online. Our system will confirm availability for your chosen date. This helps us control our numbers, and provides you with a better visit! A timetable to help you with your visit will be attached to your ticket.

2. For your safety, you must remain on our pathways.

3. Pushchairs and buggies are not permitted underground - we suggest that parents use papoose-style baby carriers. Above ground, it is quite hilly, so it may not be possible to visit some areas with a pushchair or buggy.

4. Friendly, family dogs are permitted into the Showcaves. Dogs must be on a short lead at all times, and owners must carry 'doggy bags'. Dogs are NOT permitted into the Coffee Shop, or the Shire Horse Centre area where the farm, playgrounds and Millennium Stone Circles are situated.

5. We are situated on the side of a mountain; and therefore access can be extremely difficult for those with reduced mobility. Please read our access statement,. Click here which also includes information on invisible disabilities for further information and/or contact us on 01639 730284 to discuss your requirements BEFORE you book a ticket.

6. Sensible, sturdy shoes and a warm, long-sleeved top are recommended for the caves, as the temperature underground is 10°C.

7. You’re welcome to take photographs underground, but the use of tripods, camera stands, and selfie sticks is not permitted.

8. Children must be supervised at all times during the visit.

9.If you need to leave the attraction during your visit you can do so via the Rock and Dinosaur Shop or the Ticket Office. Please remember to check the last admittance time with a member of staff so you can re-enter the attraction.

10. PLEASE NOTE: We do not tolerate any abuse directed at staff members – in the event of unsociable behaviour the person(s) responsible will be asked to leave the site.
